These mental health problems are a serious affair that must be attended because these employees can become a risk component for the company. The medical examination premium of the company can increase significantly due to high uper usage of the employee medical plan. The company also has to protect itself against legal liability because the profile of undesirable employees has a very high frequency of older employees. A full implementation of the layoff plan could lead to a class action suit for age discrimination against the firm.
